Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin is a Canadian and New Zealand actress. Paquin is a native of Winnipeg was raised in Wellington and made her stage debut in the role of Flora McGrath when she played her role in The Piano. She won an Academy Award at the age of 11 for Best Supporting Actress. Anna Paquin's full title is Anna Helene Paquin. Born on the 24th of July, 1982 at Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was an Canadian born New Zealand actress. As as a young girl, she was awarded the Academy Award for best support actress. The role she played as the enthusiastic and lively girl of Holly Hunter played in The Piano (1993) brought her the award. After she responded to an open call for auditions, she won the role in the role of Flora McGrath, the daughter of a mute Scottish piano player who moved from Scotland to New Zealand in mid-19th-century to be married. The actress was just nine, and she had no acting experience. She moved to the United States as a teen. Paquin played the lead role in the film Fly Away Home in 1996 and had a minor part in the film as Jane Eyre when she was still a toddler. Paquin appeared as Frankie Addams, a character in Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in 1997 her character was the Spanish queen in a lesser role. The actress played teenagers on the screen in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) and Almost Famous (2000). Also, she played the character of Polexia Aphrodisa.
